James Lamont Cobb Jr, age 70, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at home in Sun City, Arizona with his wife, Wanda, and oldest daughter, Jennifer, by his side. He was born in Port Chester, New York on February 28, 1948 to his loving parents James and Jeanne (Wilson) Cobb and was their only child.

James grew up in Los Angeles, California and attended Transfiguration Elementary School. There he met many lifelong friends; Gregory De Cuir, John Files and Gary Westbrook to name a few. Also there he began his interest in sports. In the Cobb household, faith in God and a good education was important. James attended Cathedral, an all-boys Catholic High School. After graduation he received his AS from Los Angeles City College, his BS in Industrial Technology from California State University, Long Beach, his MBA from Washington University, and was pursing his PHD from the University of Reno. While at CSULB he joined the Black Student Union and met the love of his life, Wanda, who he later married. The two were married 45 years and had three daughters and one son. They taught them about the love of God and the importance of loving thy neighbor. He enjoyed life, family members and many friends. His dedication to hard work resulted in careers at 3M Company, IBM, Hewlett Packard, California State University Sacramento, Deloitte, and his own business Cobb & Company. He was a 4th degree and lifetime Knights of Columbus with the Catholic Church and a selfless volunteer. He helped with pancake breakfasts at the church, was a Eucharistic Minister and served food to the homeless at St. Vincent de Paul. He was always in the community helping others with a smile on his face and a joke on his lips.

James was preceded in death by his parents James Lamont Cobb, Sr. and Jeanne Wilson Cobb; his grandparents William and Mollie Wilson and Sadie Jones. James leaves behind to cherish his memories; his wife, Wanda Freeman Cobb; his 4 children, Jennifer Webb (John L) children, Malcolm (Colette), Terrence, Jonathan, Janelle, Alexis, Amber; Ciara Cobb Bailey (Markee) children, Keeara, Keecia, Markee, JR, Keemar, Brigette; Victoria Cobb Stinson (John) children, Jeremiah, Alyanna, Lejon, Jariah, Shayla; James Cobb, III (Catherine) children Mikhayla, Semaje, Jaidan, Tiyanna, Jahki, Jasylis. He also leaves behind 3 great- grandchildren; his brother in law, James Freeman; his sister in law, Etha Richardson; many nieces and nephews; 2 half-brothers, Reggie and Kenneth Cobb; cousins and friends. He was loved and will be missed by all. We were truly blessed to have had him in our lives.
